Job Requirements / Description

Reports directly to the Executive Vice President of Wholesale Power and works closely top-level leadership teams. This position is responsible to impact our productivity, streamline strategic initiatives, oversee program management, and communicate objectives between LCRA departments. Uses proven experience in a business leadership/management and energy industry expertise to serve in an executive-level advising capacity, achieve project execution, and foster key interdepartmental collaboration.

You Will Be Trusted To

  • For all sections and staff in Wholesale Power, develop strategic and operating plans, goals, objectives, priorities, and procedures that are in alignment with the strategic goals of Wholesale Power and objectives of the LCRA.
  • Responsible for coordinating the strategies, goals, objectives, priorities, plans and procedures for procuring or developing electric power to meet our customers’ demands and enhance our best-in-class generation operations.
  • Provide active management of initiatives to transform ideas into reality and monitor their progress.
  • Maintain awareness of department issues and responds to employee needs and concerns.
  • Communicate with employees to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information.
  • Set key performance indicators to measure and improve team performance.
  • Provide guidance to department heads to enhance overall team efficiency.
  • Plan and coordinates meetings to keep them focused and effective.
  • Provide oversight and direction of all internal coordination efforts for LCRA's participation in the regulatory stakeholder process at PUCT and ERCOT.
  • Serve on various internal committees and represents LCRA on various external committees and task forces as required. Oversee various groups and committees on behalf of LCRA as required.
  • Participate in cross-training activities, cross-departmental sharing of knowledge and, when appropriate, cross-departmental developmental assignments. Share knowledge and expertise with others, developing a pipeline of possible successors. Learn from others in different roles and different departments to expand knowledge.
  • Identify areas of improvement across the organization and makes actionable recommendations.

You Qualify With

  • Fourteen or more years of experience in the energy business, including an understanding of the marketplace, competitors, environmental regulations and industry and what is required for sustained operating results, or other relevant experience.
  • A degree(s) in business, law, economics, finance, engineering or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
