As an Information Technology System Administrator at Evolv I.T., you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional IT services and support for our managed service provider (MSP) clients. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain, optimize, and secure client infrastructure, ensuring peak performance and minimal downtime. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual committed to high performance and maintaining high standards in everything they do.


Key Responsibilities

  • System Management & Maintenance : Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and related hardware and software to ensure high availability, reliability, and optimal performance for clients.
  • Network Administration : Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless systems to ensure secure and efficient operation.
  • Client Support : Provide Tier 2/3 technical support to resolve escalated client issues, focusing on root-cause analysis, timely resolution, and follow-up.
  • Proactive Monitoring & Maintenance : Conduct proactive monitoring, patching, and updates for client systems to prevent issues before they arise and maintain security standards.
  • Security Management : Manage firewalls, VPNs, and security policies, ensuring compliance with the latest security protocols to protect client data and systems.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery : Manage backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and quick recovery in the event of failures.
  • Automation & Efficiency : Continuously seek opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiencies for both internal and client systems.
  • Documentation : Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of client infrastructure, configurations, and changes for future reference and audit compliance.
  • Collaboration & Communication : Work closely with other departments, including account management and procurement, to ensure seamless service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Continuous Learning : Stay current with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and security threats, applying this knowledge to improve service delivery and protect client systems.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • System Uptime : Maintain client system availability to a minimum of 99.9%.
    • Ticket Resolution Time : Ensure all escalated tickets are resolved within SLA timeframes.
    • Client Satisfaction : Maintain a high client satisfaction score through effective communication, problem-solving, and consistent follow-up.
    • Proactive Maintenance Completion : Ensure all proactive system maintenance is completed on schedule to prevent client downtime.
    • Security Compliance : Ensure all client systems meet or exceed industry security standards.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
    • Certifications : Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or equivalent are preferred.
    • Experience :
    • 3+ years of experience in a system administration role, preferably within an MSP environment.
    • Proven track record of managing and maintaining complex IT infrastructures.
    • Technical Expertise :
    • In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments.
    • Strong experience with network configurations and firewall management (e.g., Cisco, SonicWall, Fortinet).
    • Proficiency with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
    • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and Office 365 administration.
