To help complete its top tier administrative team, Latin is seeking a Director of Enrollment Management and Financial Aid. This position is responsible for the recruitment, admission, and retention of students from junior kindergarten through 12th grade by marketing the School to current and prospective families, as well as reinforcing Latin's strong reputation locally, regionally, and nationally.

The Director of Enrollment Management reports to the Head of School and oversees a team of 5.5, along with the day-to-day operations of the Enrollment Management and Financial Aid Office. The Director advances the School and its programs in collaboration with their colleagues to make enrollment management a campus-wide priority and ensure the successful attainment of annual enrollment and retention goals. Another important aspect of this role is supervising the need-based financial aid program of the School, which is critical to our goal of ensuring a socio-economically diverse student body.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement long- and short-term enrollment and retention goals and strategies to ensure enrollment and retention goals are met.
  • Partner with senior administrators, faculty, staff, Board members, and other School constituencies to develop and articulate the School's admissions priorities.
  • Manage the process by which Latin identifies student candidates and shepherds them through the admissions process.
  • Assure continuity between the admission processes and enrollment, orientation, onboarding, scheduling, and student life opportunities.
  • Identify and utilize available resources to conduct market research on internal and external factors that may affect enrollment.
  • Provide enrollment forecasting data, including local trends and relevant statistics throughout the admission and re-enrollment process, to the Head of School and Board of Trustees, as requested.
  • Work with the communications team to maintain a robust marketing presence of Latin throughout the Chicagoland areas using a variety of promotional materials that promote our vision, mission, and ethos.
  • Develop and oversee outreach programs to attract prospective families who align with the mission of the School.
  • Represent the School at various external organizations and associations.
  • Manage the re-enrollment process for returning students and un-enrollment process for departing students.
  • Evaluate the enrollment management office staff and programs on an annual basis.
  • Make regular reports and presentations to the Board of Trustees, Parent Association, and faculty, as needed/requested.
  • Oversee enrollment management volunteer and ambassador programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of admissions or related experience; preferably in independent schools or at the college or university level(s).
  • Strong understanding of data and trend analysis, and how to use it to inform practice and decision-making.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience leading teams with proven success.
  • Genuine commitment to education and the desire to support Latin's mission.
  • Strong leadership and administration skills with solid experience managing, mentoring, and motivating staff, along with the ability to inspire colleagues toward accomplishing common objectives.
  • A growth mindset, openness to change, creative problem-solving skills, and curiosity.
  • A collaborative working style with the ability to manage and prioritize requests in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, along with outstanding writing, presentation, and persuasion skills.
  • Comfort and confidence speaking and presenting in front of senior leaders, parents, volunteers, Board members, and all members of the Latin community.
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, including experience interacting emphatically with parties of varying views and backgrounds, and pursuing measurable outcomes that advance DEI priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
  • Successful management experience with supervision of teams of 5 or more.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, empathy, and a sense of humor.
