Senior Java Developer

TalEx is partnering with a media services organization to identify a Senior Software Engineer focused on back-end Java Development. This is a long-term contract opportunity located in Sunnyvale, California.

Responsibilities include:

1. Design and development of new features in our event-driven server architecture.
2. Learning and improving our unique framework for memory management and low latency/high throughput systems.
3. Participate in code reviews using Gerrit and Stash.
4. Contributions to our open source project, RIBS.
5. Work with Product Management to develop and clarify ad serving product requirements as well as design solutions that meet the requirements.
6. Effectively manage day-to-day tasks in an Agile process to meet scheduled commitments and participate in Agile team’s Scrum activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
2. 3+ years of strong coding skills in a back-end programming language.
3. Attitude of creating high quality code, learning from peers and always innovating.

Pluses include:

1. Extensive experience in Java.
2. Experience in low latency, high throughput distributed systems.
3. Experience working on embedded, real-time or event-driven systems.
4. Experience with SQL.
5. Experience with working Agile/Scrum teams.
