RAND seeks an Accountant to perform accounting duties to support the Accounting Operations group at RAND. The successful candidate will process the financial transactions related to operational accounting (Accounts Payable and Travel). Primary responsibilities will include reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts, assist with bi-weekly period closings, prepare journal entries and various other ad hoc projects as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience and understanding of accounting transactions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to organize workflow in an efficient manner
- Research questions and troubleshoot
- Experience with MS Office
- Knowledge of accounting software packages
- Advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Aptitude to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in non-profit accounting
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR)
- Experience with Workday ERP and SAP Concur Expense reporting
Education:
- Minimum BS/BA in Finance, Business or Accounting or equivalent experience
Experience:
- 1-year minimum experience related to business/accounting required
Location:
- Santa Monica – This is a hybrid position requiring the Accountant to be in the office 1-2 days a week.
Salary Range:
$54,700 - $81,400
