POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Head of Hardware Development that will be a catalyst to our current team as we continue our growth trajectory to revolutionize the lives of the patients we aim to serve.
What You'll Do:
- Lead all day to day hardware team development and innovation based activities within the company under a ISO 13485 QMS system.
- Collaborate with software, data science, regulatory, and quality teams for an integrated product development approach.
- Contribute to hands on design, assembly, and testing of products in a bench, pre-clinical, and clinical settings.
- Recruit, train, and inspire your team as we continue to grow into the future.
- Collaborate with the Starling leadership team on defining and executing the company growth strategy.
What You'll Have:
- 10+ years of progressive and diverse experience in Product Development (R&D/NPD) from either start-ups or multinational organizations focusing on either low cost - high volume electronics devices, consumer facing products/medical devices, optics based diagnostics, AWS connected IoT devices, or AI integrating healthcare technology.
- Exceptional track record of developing medical devices at rapid pace while complying with US FDA regulations 21 CFR part 820 / Design Controls, ISO 14971, cGMP and ISO 13485.
- Experienced in developing strategy for clinical trials for 510K or Class 1 submissions and safety certifications for fast product launch.
- Strong leadership abilities in leading global cross-functional teams of internal and external engineers: Mechanical, Optics, Electrical, FPGA, Software / Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality and Industrial Design.
- Extensive experience in complete product development lifecycle: from feasibility / POC, prototyping, DFM, V&V, NPI, commercial launch to supply chain management.
- Extensive experience partnering and communicating with executives and departmental leads: Marketing / Product, Quality, Regulatory, Finance / BD, HR, Operations, Manufacturing, including founders & BODs.
