Who We Are...
McWane Inc. has a newly created division, McWane Plant and Industrial (MPI). This new division, based in Birmingham, AL, combines all Plant and Industrial Products in a single customer-focused package. We offer comprehensive solutions through an experienced team of professionals specifically focused on these two special markets. Our Mission is to be the Plant and Industrial supplier who is "easiest to do business with". We will make it easier to engineer, specify, and order components for plants. We will provide greater support for smoother delivery, cost-effective installation, and start-up. Most importantly, we will build strong relationships with design engineers, contractors, plant operations teams and project owners to assure we are their first-choice supplier for both new construction and future upgrades.

Job DescriptionPosition:
Estimator, McWane Plant & Industrial

Directly reports to:
Estimation Manager
Position Purpose:
The focus of this job is producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures. In this position you will review incoming plans, drawings and specifications to identify opportunities/projects while producing precise, accurate quotations for MPI.
Position Summary:
Oversees specification reviews for incoming plans.
Measures, tracks quotations for general contract review.
Provide and communicate estimations and modifications across McWane divisions and facilities needed to meet customer and deadline demands.
Ability to review drawings to provide a comprehensive product opportunity in the form of a takeoff.
Essential Functions:
Ability to read drawings and blueprints, develop a takeoff of products in estimations to produce a quote.
- Specification review and interpretation to provide accurate quote
- Takeoff of available products
- Creation of quote
- Communication with Regional Sales Managers and reps to produce quotation
- Communicate with 3rd party vendors to get actuation costs for producing valve quotes where required
- Communicating with painting vendors on special paints or with accessory vendors
- Steady, even pace to promote accuracy and quality of work
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree, preferably in a business, engineering, estimation or equivalent industry experience
- Project management experience and project management software skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple projects with attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Experienced with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software tools
- Detail oriented, adept at reading documents and engineering drawings and specifications
- Valid driver's license with no major violations.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Mechanical aptitude or engineering background.
- Must be a team player.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in business or engineering or equivalent industry experience
- Previous estimating experience in wastewater industry
- Experienced with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software tools
- Experience with legal contracts and interface with legal teams
- Familiarity with CRM software tools to manage, track and measure quotation activities
