Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated professional to join our team as an Associate within our Portfolio Advisory group in a relationship management and operations role, with significant room for growth. This position is purposefully designed to report directly to the Deputy Chief Investment Officer. You will play a pivotal role in managing client relationships, performing portfolio reviews and proposals, organizing client communications, implementing and directly executing investment plans, and contributing to the overall success of our firm. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, possesses excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style, and knowledge of investing strategies, coupled with the ability to work closely with senior partners to oversee client relationships.


Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and maintain strong, proactive relationships with clients for their investment needs, acting as a key point of contact, in concert with the senior partners.
  • Understand clients' financial objectives, risk tolerance, and preferences to tailor proactive investment strategies, document conversations.


Proposal Development

  • Prepare and present comprehensive investment proposals to clients, outlining recommended strategies and portfolio adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the investment team to customize proposals based on individual client needs and market conditions.


Investment Strategy, Project Management & Client Service

  • Work collaboratively with the investment team to ensure coordinated efforts in implementing client portfolio activity.
  • Service as the liaison between client service and investment teams.
  • Collaborate with the client service teams to address client inquiries, resolve issues, and enhance overall client satisfaction.
  • Ongoing development and strong understanding of both private and public investments, staying informed about market trends, and industry developments.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to clients based on their financial objectives and market conditions.


Trading Execution

  • Support the firm’s cash management and cash raise facilitation process – directly engaging with the firm’s Cash Management Tool and related portfolio trades.


Portfolio Reporting Reviews and Analysis

  • Conduct thorough reviews of client portfolios, ensuring alignment with investment objectives and risk profiles.
  • Work with our investment committee to proactively engage clients on internal perspectives on market trends, economic indicators, and investment opportunities to make informed curated recommendations for each client portfolio.
  • Review client reporting to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with the operations team to address any discrepancies and improve reporting processes.


Collaboration with Senior Partners

  • Work closely with senior partners to oversee client relationships and contribute to the firm's overall success and client satisfaction and retention.
  • Participate in strategic discussions and initiatives to enhance the quality of service provided to clients.
  • Maintain marketing presentations and materials for the firm, making strategic suggestions and adjustments over time.
  • Develop new client research related materials.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education + work experience) with an emphasis in economics, business, finance, or related social studies preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant industry experience required. Prior financial analytics experience with a client facing element is a plus.
  • Series 65 or Series 7/66 in good standing preferred, but not required prior to employment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions, with a strong desire to think critically and improve processes independently.
  • High degree of self-motivation, integrity, and willingness to seek new responsibilities.
  • Ability to balance multiple time sensitive projects efficiently and communicate expectations and needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong digital literacy in Microsoft Office Suite products – Excel and PowerPoint, in particular.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of the team.
  • Prior experience with Addepar is a plus.


Compensation

CoastEdge follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance. Details are below:

  • Initial Salary range: $80,000-$120,000 (commensurate with experience)
