ABOUT THE ROLE
As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will operate, inspect, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment for commercial HVAC systems in multiple assigned facilities. In this role, you are responsible for providing support, preventive and scheduled maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
You will also operate, inspect, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment for commercial HVAC systems in assigned facilities to achieve efficient results. Ideal candidates will have prior experience as a Refrigeration Technician, HVAC/R Service Technician or Refrigeration Maintenance Technician.
Must be flexible to work 2nd shift (Tuesday - Saturday) (12PM - 8:30PM)
Must live within designated radius of the job site to reliably work schedule/shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains, operates, and repairs HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior/exterior repair, and related grounds as it pertains to assigned building(s).
Inspects building HVAC and plumbing systems to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
Completes maintenance and repair records as the need arises.
Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
Reviews historical maintenance records to develop proactive inspection, testing and preventive maintenance schedule.
Operates company vehicle in a safe manner and follows prescribed routines to service locations in a timely manner.
Performs general maintenance and building systems operational duties as assigned or directed.
Aligns with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
To perform this job effectively, an individual should be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.
Commercial HVAC and Facilities systems maintenance and repair.
Perform assigned repairs, emergency, corrective, and preventive maintenance.
Provide Plumbing, Electrical, and Lighting maintenance
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Proven experience as a HVAC technician or Building Engineer; minimum of three years.
EPA required
Mobile maintenance experience highly preferred.
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks.
CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES
Universal CFC certification and/or EPA required. Certification in two or more of the following: Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC and Refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair as well as CFC Certification.
OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
