Summary
This Corporate Counsel position reports to the General Counsel and will join a collaborative and collegial company at our Headquarters in Kansas City reporting to the General Counsel. The culture is “open door” where you will have the opportunity to assist many areas of the business. Primary responsibilities include routine interaction with the Sales, Rental, and Operations teams, as well as customers. The Corporate Counsel will provide business perspective and legal advice on a wide range of legal matters including commercial contracts for our customers and vendors, related operational and strategic issues, corporate matters, litigation, and regulatory matters.
In this role, you must be immediately recognizable as a leader, possessing outstanding communication, thought leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with senior business leaders. Further, this role must be execution-oriented, quick-study, and thrive within a dynamic and growing environment.
CTOS enjoys a fast-paced environment with an exceptional growth-focused culture. The in-house legal function is heavily relied upon and exceedingly valuable to our success. Days are busy and full, but travel and/or night and weekend work would be rare for this role.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal support dedicated to Sales, Rental and Operations teams.
- Identify, assess, and advise on corporate policy, risk, and competitive analysis.
- Individual contributor, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Assist with corporate/subsidiaries governance matters.
- Assist with litigation matters and collaborate with internal departments (insurance and commercial teams) regarding discovery.
- Engage in research to remain current on statutory and regulatory requirements impacting the Company.

Required Qualifications
- Experience drafting, examining, and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Minimum 3-5 years of post-law school legal experience.
- Prior law firm experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent academic and professional credentials, including JD from an accredited law school.
- Active bar license.
- This role interacts with our team regularly so will need to be onsite at our Corporate Office located in Kansas City, Missouri on a regular schedule.
- You may be required to travel to our branch and production locations occasionally.
