POSITION SUMMARY

As a Senior Accountant at NorthRock you will serve as a business partner within a talented and dynamic team environment. You will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions from processing vendor invoices to month-end close procedures and reporting. Working in collaboration with the CFO, the ideal candidate will embrace the use of technology; seek ways to identify and enhance our current procedures and drive financial reporting and insights for executive leadership.

WHAT YOU’LL DO ONCE HERE

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including month-end close procedures
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Analyze variances and trends, and alert leaders on significant variances from budget, forecast and internal control standards
  • Design and monitor effective control processes to track financial performance against expectations, including early “red flags” to identify potential shortfalls
  • Assist with cashflow management and reporting
  • Prepare regulatory filings, including quarterly debt compliance certificates
  • Assist with the annual financial audit, including preparation of schedules
  • Assist with year-end equity reconciliation
  • Identify better processes, tools, and techniques for completing projects in an efficient manner
  • Identify and draft policies and procedures to ensure sound internal and financial reporting controls
  • Perform ad-hoc business analyses as assigned

EXPERIENCE & MINDSET YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM

  • A degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 4+ years related experience as an accountant
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and best business practices
  • Excellent project management skills
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Experience in the financial services industry a plus
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Suite
  • Salesforce experience preferred
