Job Requirements / Description

Description 1st SHIFT TUGGER - HI LO OPERATOR Be able to perform all essential job functions as described for a Production Associate. (See Production Associate job description.) Safely operate powered stand-up industrial delivery equipment. Able to operate a Hi-Lo and a Tugger. Drives a standardized route to pick-up and deliver small totes of materials for all plant departments. In some cases, will be required to perform other duties such as filling bowls with parts, cutting tops off boxes, filling flow racks, etc. Move materials in amounts to avoid personal injury, or damage to equipment, material product, or the facility. Ensures all assembly operations are adequately stocked to prevent part shortages and downtime. Effectively communicates part shortages and other critical information to the appropriate leaders throughout the facility. Move material to designated areas. Unload and stack material. Supply workers with material as required. Interpret labels to ensure proper disposition of materials. Weigh material or products and record on tags or labels. Effectively manages battery supply to avoid unplanned downtime of the tugger. Authorized to refuel propane gas as needed. Train new or less experienced employees on the job. Maintain proper records of the work performed. Authorized to perform maintenance checks to make sure the Hi-Lo is in proper working condition. Authorized to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformitites relating to product, processes, and quality systems. Report any safety or mechanical problems with the Hi-Lo to a supervisor. Fill out daily Hi-Lo maintenance check off list and a weekly scrap audit. Responsible for continuous improvement in the shipping and receiving area as well as material processes. Performs other essential job functions as assigned.
