The Site Director will oversee and manage all aspects of operations at our Miami Distribution and Fulfillment Center (Medley, FL) location. This position is responsible for the optimal performance of all departments, continuous improvement, quality improvement initiatives, retention and morale, client satisfaction and KPI delivery. Must ensure that the processes, equipment, documentation, and personnel are in place to meet the business objectives of the company. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Drive the continuous improvement implementation and culture for the site.
  • Maintain and analyze Distribution and Fulfillment Center key metrics; improve departmental performance measures through use and interpretation of continuous improvement tools.
  • Assist in the preparation of the site’s annual budget based on the forecasting by the company and direction from leadership; achieve optimal performance and expense levels to meet the annual budgetary plan.
  • Oversees uniform application and enforcement of approved operating policies, procedures, practices and methods, in compliance with Company and government regulatory rules and policies.
  • Communicate with clients including addressing areas of concern and business development
  • Manage and coordinate various programs essential to the site procedures (training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, quality, employee involvement, security, etc.) to distribution center supervisors and employees. Audit to ensure standards are being met. Establishes departmental productivity, accuracy, and safety goals, tracking progress toward goals, and communicating progress to employees to achieve breakthrough performance.
  • Maximizes the service, cost and quality performance of the site operations by continually reviewing and improving all aspects of the operations.
  • Monitors programs effectiveness and prepares monthly reports, including cost, performance, service quality and improvements.
  • Advises and trains employees on methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining and delivering of stock material.
  • Meets overall distribution operations financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Manages warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping.
  • Advances warehouse design by planning layout, product flow, and product handling systems; evaluating and recommending new equipment.
  • Develops warehouse operations system improvements by analyzing process work flow, manning and space requirements, and equipment layout; implementing changes.
  • Ensures operational targets and KPI’s are achieved through effective control, monitoring and review.

Requirements

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Logistics or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of broad logistics, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, fulfillment and supply chain management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership position with proven track record, including:
  • A demonstrated understanding of how all areas of operations interact and contribute to the business
  • Experience implementing processes and procedures
  • Strong understanding of revenue, forecasting, P&Ls etc.
  • Must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and expertise in Kaizen leadership and Lean principles; Six Sigma or formal Lean training required.
  • Strong familiarity with MRP/ERP systems, preferably SAP, and DLP controls
  • Data analysis and presentation skills, including familiarity Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Visio, Power Point & Project.
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with all levels, internally and externally.
  • Work effectively in high pressure/stressful situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across a multi-cultural business
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a consultative approach and the ability to develop credible relationships with business partners; ability to present a point of view in varied business situations.
