Position Overview
QinetiQ Inc. is looking to hire an experienced Senior Field Support Representative with Logistics experience to lead a multiple company team deploying and supporting aerostat systems OCONUS. This person will be engaged throughout the development, integration, test and evaluation, and fielding of aerostat systems, subsystems, and related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee team of mechanical, electrical/electronic, aerostat, or IT FSRs and technicians in the performance of selected operation and maintenance tasks across multiple sites and systems.
- Proficient at a wide range of technician tasks in order to train and equip FSR team to meet the challenges of deploying and maintaining aerostat systems and related support equipment, including corrective and preventative maintenance tasks. These skills include:
- Using standard mechanical and electrical hand tools, mechanical disassembly/assembly, wiring, soldering, operating standard and unique test equipment, repairing aerostat fabric and handling high-pressure gases.
- Aerostat line handling; pre-and post-flight inspection; weather observation; helium toppings; snubbing; inflations/deflations; tether inspections; proficiency in all emergency procedures for both moored and airborne flight aerostat operations.
- Standard and special test and support equipment including any calibration and repair activities that can be performed at the site level.
- Aerostat and ground support structural, hydraulic, and electrical/electronic equipment.
- Responsible for ensuring team has processes, procedures, and training to identify field operational problems and developing solutions.
- Plan and support field tests; analyze test data and submit appropriate test reports.
- Oversee installation of approved engineering change proposals, modifications, and upgrades throughout the aerostat fleet of systems.
- Assist in accident investigations.
- Oversee site surveys, emplacement, and displacement activities.
- Prepare and submit written reports and field correspondence addressing all technical, operational and maintenance assets for which they are responsible.
- Ensure all failed hardware is properly documented and sent for repair or disposed of and reordered.
- Ensure safety and security procedures are practiced in all phases of aerostat operation and maintenance.
- Support acquisition of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and Government off-the-shelf (GOTS) software and hardware.
- Support the acquisition and delivery of non-commercial hardware and software materials, such as spare and repair parts for aerial targets, aerial target subsystems, and other related equipment including mechanical, electrical, and contour surface parts.
- Provide logistical support for aerostat systems, sub-system and spare parts sustainment activities including receipt, storage, inventory management, information assurance and database management and sustainment, property accountability, requirements determination, requisitioning, issuing, packaging and shipment of various hardware.
- Support military and commercial shipping activities to support the acquisition and delivery of equipment.
- Provide logistical support and assist in the program management of aerostat programs.
Required Qualifications
- Experienced IPT Field support leader.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in logistical support of procurement and delivery of commercial, non-commercial, hardware and software materials to support the development of government systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in functional tasks either on an aerostat system or a related industry/military equivalent.
- Experienced using government supported procurement and shipping systems for the acquisition and delivery of government technology systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing experience, the ability to convey technical designs, ideas and results to non-technical audiences and to provide briefings to high-level government personnel.
- Experience acquiring and maintaining both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and Government off-the-shelf (GOTS) software and hardware components.
- An active DOD Secret or higher level clearance.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or an associate’s degree, plus two years of formal technical training (via military or civilian technical schools) is required.
