Overview

The Role: A successful person in the Associate Director, Commerce role has a minimum of 7-8 years of Commerce, Retail Media/Search, and/or Shopper Marketing experience, with at least 1-2 years focused on Walmart (priority retailer) & Target (experience on other retailers is welcomed!) and can raise the Connected Commerce prowess for the client and the PHD team. This person is curious, collaborative, poised, flexible, organized, natural at diplomacy, and can adopt different communication styles in different situations and for different audiences. They don’t see data, technology, and commerce in siloes, but integrated into all media channels. As they’re a part of all we do, this role will help empower others to see that as well. Previous experience with CPG and/or managing a broad portfolio of brands, both big and small, is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and execution of the clients Walmart & Target businesses (potential for expansion across other retailers)– keeping an eye on business growth for these retailers based on the evolving marketplace and retailer opportunities.
  • Ability to sell ideas clearly and deliver value – Lead the internal team who will support the execution of Walmart & Target search and retail media plans.
  • Bringing eCommerce & retail experience together, working closely with client teams to fuel retailer negotiations to get the most effective/efficient use of spend.
  • Partner with Strategic Planning and Investment teams to deliver holistic, omnichannel brand solutions – integrating commerce across all media channels and plans for our clients, not just at retail.
  • Interface with and provide education to clients at all levels – opportunity to publish retail/commerce content on behalf of the organization and clients.
  • Define platform standards and share best practices across the larger OMG organization.
  • Integrate closely with creative and production partners/agencies.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Sciences and Client Analytics Team to define the optimal way to measure/view commerce/retail media performance.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record & experience in the eCommerce/retail/shopper space.
  • Deep interest in understanding the client’s business.
  • Curiosity to identify and deliver “what’s next” for clients – making the future of the commerce marketplace happen now – Strong knowledge of connected commerce operations -inclusive of both brand and performance-based marketing.
  • Aptitude and experience with data and analytics – an ability to understand the language, pull in the right resources as needed, and an eagerness to learn – while understanding nuances across retailers as our team manages 20+ retailers on behalf of our clients – Experience leading e-retail/ecomm/shopper media campaigns focused on driving online sales, optimizing to a ROAS.
  • Experience in applying search marketing to brand-building and direct response initiatives.
  • See the big picture and dive into details as needed – Self-driven to meet and exceed revenue and business goals for our client.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills – Fully collaborative approach to problem solving across our broader team – commerce, strategy, investment, marketing science…etc.
  • Stays abreast of industry trends; not only reads the trades, but also has a POV – Demonstrable persistence and resilience at accomplishing difficult tasks, plus proven ability to learn from failures – Experience collaborating closely with other agency partners such as creative, influencer, and shopper agencies.
  • Consultative and inquisitive approach.
  • Polished and confident presenter – especially in-front of a wide range of client teams and levels.
  • Ability to communicate (sometimes complex) data-driven marketing solutions in clear and simple language to clients – Experience in managing JBPs for retailers and/or media partners on behalf of clients is an added bonus.
  • Experience w/ Criteo, Pacvue, Profitero, related platforms is a plus.

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Compensation Range

$70,000—$120,000 USD
