Moelis & Company’s Policy Advisory team is seeking a Business Research Analyst. This individual will be responsible for briefing senior professionals on relevant macro and company-related events, as well as assisting in the preparation of materials for client meetings. This role is part of a fast-paced and growing investment banking practice; however, it is one of our rare roles that focuses on financial policy rather than quantitative analytics. The position offers opportunity for growth, access to senior leadership, and the potential for taking a dynamic role in shaping one’s career.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in preparation of client-related materials which includes: daily briefing documents (client and company biographies, key meeting points), news runs and other supporting research materials, client invitation/marketing lists, client prospect lists.
  • Weekly entry of client activity and follow-up items which includes entry of client call notes, thank you notes/client correspondence, and supporting documents; using tracking software.
  • Various ongoing projects such as targeted, event-based policy research and tracking priority clients and relationships, for example earnings transcripts and breaking news.

Additional Research Responsibilities Are:

  • Policy and client related research.
  • General company and industry information gathering.
  • Research of SEC filings, and specific documentation within these filings.
  • Research for creating company specific and industry reports.
  • News runs.
  • Bloomberg information requests.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using platforms such as Cap IQ, Salesforce, and/or BoardEx is a plus.
  • Exhibit assertiveness, attention to detail, ability to learn new skills and grasp concepts quickly, ability to multi-task across varied projects, initiative, leadership, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively under pressure and time constraints.
  • We will consider both DC and NY based candidates.

Expected Salary Range: USD $65,000 - $70,000.
