Position: Neurointensivist - Academic rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (non-tenure, clinical track)
The Neurosurgery Department within the School of Medicine of the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans is seeking applicants for a Neurointensivist. Appointment will be at the academic rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (non-tenure, clinical track) with rank determined by the candidate’s credentials and experience.
The anticipated primary site of clinical practice will be our Neurocritical Care Units at University Medical Center New Orleans, a Level One Trauma Center, and West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, LA, outside of New Orleans, a medical center of LCMC Health with 419 licensed inpatient beds, outpatient services, as well as the system’s only Comprehensive Stroke Certification Center.
Responsibilities:
- Development and expansion of a Neurological Intensive Care.
- Providing clinical services.
- Supervision of Neurosurgery and Neurology residents.
- Shared call.
- Participation in medical student education.
- Resident selection and evaluation.
- Involvement in clinically relevant research and scholarship.
