Senior Human Resources Generalist

Core Responsibilities:
  • Employee Relations & Compliance: Foster a positive work environment by managing employee relations, including counseling, conflict resolution, and enforcing policies. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, regularly updating the employee handbook.
  • Payroll & Benefits Administration: Oversee the accurate processing of payroll for 175 employees and up to 50+ temps. Manage benefits administration, including open enrollment and 401(k) contributions, while addressing employee inquiries related to PTO, health benefits, and compensation.
  • Onboarding & Training: Coordinate and conduct employee onboarding, safety training, and ongoing development programs, ensuring seamless new hire integration. Facilitate training on sexual harassment and safety protocols, particularly in Spanish.
  • Record Maintenance & Reporting: Maintain and safeguard confidential HR records, including OSHA reporting and compliance documentation. Handle Worker's Compensation claims, FMLA, and unemployment claims with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Recruitment & Hiring: Drive the recruitment process by posting jobs, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and ensuring smooth onboarding of new hires. Actively participate in sourcing candidates for high-turnover positions.
  • Team Engagement: Organize employee engagement activities, anniversary and birthday celebrations, and company-wide events to boost morale and team spirit.
What We're Looking For:
  • Educational Background: BS/BA in Human Resources or a related field is preferred or an equivalent of 3+ years of HR manufacturing experience
  • Years: 3 years of Human Resources experience within a manufacturing environment
  • HR Expertise: Proven experience in any of the following: employee relations, payroll processing, safety training, new hire training, on-boarding, benefits administration, and handling Worker's Compensation claims. Ability to manage compliance requirements across different HR functions.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proactive approach to resolving employee issues. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information.
  • Systems: Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HR software systems, with the ability to maintain accurate electronic and paper records.
