Vehicle Inventory Buyer

Join CarMax as a Vehicle Inventory Buyer and kickstart your career in our Merchandising department. As a Buyer-in-Training, you will be responsible for acquiring and managing our extensive used car inventory through appraisals, wholesale auctions, and regional auctions. This role involves completing a comprehensive training program under the supervision of a Manager, where you'll learn about vehicle basics, market analytics, and offsite behaviors.

• Evaluate and negotiate current market prices, assess vehicle damage, and make purchasing and pricing decisions
• Conduct vehicle appraisals, coordinate auctions, and attend regional auctions
• Deliver exceptional customer service and collaborate with other departments to create outstanding customer experiences
• Utilize technology to collaborate with team members at other locations

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated communication skills with internal and external customers
• Ability to analyze market data and make quick, confident decisions
• Proven track record of goal setting, career planning, and focused execution
• Flexible work hours and a valid driver's license
