Job Summary:
Zoltek has an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Generalist. This role will support our St. Louis area sites including Corporate Headquarters and (2) manufacturing facilities. The HR Generalist partners with managers and employees at various levels to provide HR support and solutions. This person will work in conjunction with the Senior HR Generalist. Specific areas of influence include talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation/salary administration, training and development, compliance, and special projects. The HR Generalist will interface with plant and department management in assuring the delivery of all Human Resources initiatives.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Assists with routine weekly and monthly reporting related to various HR topics, metrics, and initiatives
  • Assists with the compliance and upkeep of the Company's Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Assists with recruiting, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions at all levels; collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
  • Administers new hire orientation and employee recognition programs at all levels
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of HR trends, best practices, compliance issues, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Participates in job analysis exercises; review of job descriptions; and coordination with team members to create a competitive recruitment and retention program.
  • Participates in the design, modification, and implementation of the Company's performance management program. Consults with line management, providing HR guidance as needed.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Generalist Duties:
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field; plus at least 5 years of experience in an HR capacity.
  • HR Certification Institute or Society of Human Resources certification(s) preferred; PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing in an HR capacity preferred
  • Proficiency with HR systems (HRIS, ATS) required; experience with ADP Workforce Now and Paycor Recruiting preferred.
  • Knowledge and application of current HR trends, best practices and compliance issues.
  • High level ability to create presentations, charts, graphs and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and strong decision-making capability in a variety of situations.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
