Sr. Director, Army Programs at SMX

Location: United States

The Sr. Director will own growth, business development, delivery, and profit responsibility for this business area and own the overall business strategy and investments that are made in future capabilities. The focus of this position is to develop and drive growth through strategic planning and business delivery model. The Sr. Director is responsible for ensuring the achievement of performance targets and strategic initiatives by setting and meeting operational goals that are consistent with the vision of the organization. Position requires proven success leading program management, engineering & technology services portfolios, in an organization that has demonstrated sustained growth in delivering cyber security, systems engineering, enterprise network solutions, and software engineering to the US defense market.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Contributing to the identification, capture, and development of bid strategy and win of profitable business opportunities to grow business, specifically with Army customers in the Huntsville, AL market.
  2. Work closely with Division and Group leadership, peers across the enterprise, including the executive leadership team at the corporate level, and functional business partner support organizations.
  3. Manage client-focused teams to instill predictable and repeatable frameworks that consistently meet schedules and delivery commitments while meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
  4. Drive high performance standards across the operation, developing and hiring great talent, identifying, and implementing programs for filling any gaps that may exist.
  5. Provide overall leadership and foster a culture that operates ethically with honesty, integrity, and respect.
  6. Conduct employee/team development and mentoring to ensure the staff has the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform its mission.
  7. Implement succession planning to provide for long term leadership and competency in all key areas.

Required Skills and Experience:

  1. Clearance Required: Secret
  2. Bachelor's in technical or business-related field and advanced degree is desirable
  3. Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in government services organization, with at least ten (10) years of management experience within the DoD environment

  5. Candidates must have highly effective interpersonal skills in order to carry out daily interactions with technical staff and business executives within the organization, with external customers, and with teammates and subcontractors.
  6. Extensive experience developing and selling services to Federal Government organizations and a proven track record of growing the business (both in revenue and profitability)
  7. Growth minded and with ability to mentor other employees
  8. Solid financial operations P&L background, to include budgeting, forecasting, reporting and modeling of a $25M-50M line of business
  9. Significant experience with clients on Redstone Arsenal (Army, NASA, FBI)
  10. Visible and engaging leader and change agent. Brings passion to the role and energy to the group with a strong bias for action and decisiveness
  11. Proven success in hiring and developing high performing teams
  12. Knowledge of Army MACs and GWACs (Express/RS3/Alliant 2, etc) is desirable

The proposed salary for this position is: $179,700—$299,500 USD
