Our client, a government supplier of economic development initiatives, located in the Beloit and Madison, WI area(s) is seeking an experienced Program Management professional to join their team to work in the capacity of Program Director .

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills coupled with experience working with underserved people from diverse backgrounds.

About the Position

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director provides leadership for the development, management, and delivery of the Rock County Jumpstart business incubator and accelerator, with support from other Jumpstart team members and community partners. They will also be able to develop processes and strategies that allow them to fulfill their duties effectively and efficiently. Experience in the nonprofit sector would be a plus.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist with planning and coordination of Rock County Jumpstart incubator and accelerator program and activities.
  2. Develop a process to recruit participant organizations and oversee the selection of the cohort.
  3. Manage implementation of Rock County Jumpstart incubator and accelerator programs.
  4. Build and maintain relationships with program participants.
  5. Manage and respond to requests for technical assistance, resources, connections, and guidance.
  6. Serve as a trainer or facilitator when appropriate.
  7. Participate in the planning and budgeting process.
  8. Coordinate an Advisory Board to assist with capacity building opportunities.
  9. Track program progress and milestones, create reports, and meet with the Executive Director monthly for review.
  10. Coordinate program communications.
  11. Administer or oversee fundraising operations for programs as well as community outreach.
  12. Oversee the use of technology for program operations, such as video conferencing technology, presentation software and other communications technologies.
  13. Assist with creating and maintaining program records, reports, presentations, and proposals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline or equivalent work-related experience is required.
  • 5 years of experience working in the non-profit sector is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Proficiency with Google products (Google Docs, Drive, Sheets, etc.), Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is strongly preferred.
  • Highly developed listening skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential in this role.
  • Sophisticated interpersonal skills with proven ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders through multiple communication channels is required.
  • Nimble, able to remain focused and composed in the face of shifting and competing demands and maintain a solutions-oriented perspective.
  • Understands and embraces the spirit and work ethic of a nonprofit organization, willing to flex responsibilities as needed to get the work done.
  • The ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people is strongly preferred.
  • A valid State Driver’s license is required.
