Adecco is currently assisting a great client in their search for an experienced Tax Accountant in Melville, NY.
Type: 40hrs/wk. Temp to Perm
Start Date: Within two to three weeks.
Location : Intersect of Walt Whitman Road and S. Service Road in Melville, NY. Please make sure this commute works for you prior to applying.
Hours : 8:30am to 5:00pm
Pay: $47.00 to $ 47.00/hr
Length: Temp to Hire
As a Tax Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of the client's tax filings and reporting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide expert tax advice and support business objectives.
Responsibilities for the Tax Accountant role include:
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns, including income tax returns, sales tax returns, and property tax returns.
- Research and analyze tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance with all applicable tax requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of tax provision calculations and disclosures for financial reporting.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure timely and accurate tax filings and audits.
- Advise on tax implications of business transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Maintain tax records and documentation to support tax filings and audits.
- Stay up to date on tax law changes and industry trends.
- Bachelor's degree required (Accounting preferred), CPA helpful
- 3-5 years of multi-state sales tax accounting experience
- Experience researching tax rules and regulations for products and services.
- Proficiency with Vertex Indirect Tax O Series and Vertex Returns, or similar tax management systems required
- Oracle and Tableau experience a plus
- Strong Excel skills are required
- Ability to work independently and interact well with others
