As an Asset Reliability Engineer, you will support the Freeport Petrochemicals Business by monitoring and evaluating asset effectiveness and performance to drive recommendations for long-term care, operation and replacement of assets in alignment with the business strategy.
You will also facilitate review and prioritize capital project ideas to build the long-term asset plans, facilitate and review maintenance work notification prioritization and planning prioritization, scheduling reviews and backlog reviews. Assisting in developing the maintenance and non-maintenance portions of the annual production fixed cost budgets and developing and maintaining multi-year asset target picture and asset development plan in alignment with business strategy.

•Working in cross functional teams to determine and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities around asset effectiveness. Performing routine review of asset effectiveness data to make risk based, cost avoidance, and return on investment recommendations.
•Utilizing asset condition and business strategy information to update and maintain the asset investment/ reinvestment strategy (Capital Expenditure, Major Maintenance and Major Non-Maintenance plan).
•Supporting the OpEX (Operational Excellence) process by identifying opportunities as well as performing initial economic analysis for qualification for OpEX funding. Entering and maintaining OpEX database information.
•Leading regularly scheduled capital project idea review meetings. Supporting risk quantification, economic evaluation and business justifications relating to capital project idea submissions.
•Leading weekly planner prioritization meetings to ensure the daily/ weekly work schedule aligns with work order prioritization, operational support for permitting and regulatory item due date requirements.
•Leading the annual Asset Development Plan pre-work, updates and workshop.
•Leading the maintenance backlog review meetings and providing weekly outlooks on maintenance spend.
•Working in concert with reliability engineer to apply asset effectiveness data and economic analysis to reliability “bad actor” events and equipment failures, aligning to maintain equipment sparing strategies through FMEA outputs.
•Coordinating with marketing, supply chain, capital projects, accounting, technology, operations and maintenance to create the annual revision of the SBU Asset Target Picture and Asset Development plan.
•Maintaining the Plant Asset Condition database (EPAC) including asset End of Life assessments. Supporting updates to the plant Asset Management – Maintenance Management Roadmaps and Asset Management one-pagers.
•Developing the annual production fixed maintenance and non-maintenance budgets in conjunction with the SBU teams.
•Utilizing economic evaluations and knowledge of the fixed cost plan to provide guidance to the production and maintenance team as well as performing risk and cost avoidance evaluations to justify spend.
•Working with the operations teams to reevaluate production rates and development of the practical available capacity documentation annually to support marketing and supply chain planning.
If you...
Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Possess with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with direct operating plant experience.
Have a solid understanding of equipment criticality evaluation, equipment strategies and maintenance practices and possess thorough knowledge of capital project process.
Have proven experience working with SAP, GAP, MS Suite and Power BI
