What to Expect
As McLaren Trophy, America - Series Manager you will be responsible for the management and growth of the series at a local level. You will be responsible for attracting drivers and teams to the series and managing the smooth delivery of the championship on budget. The McLaren Trophy, America – Series Manager will be part of the McLaren America regional team, based within the Sales & Marketing department, and reporting into the global McLaren One-Make Racing, Manager in the UK.
What You'll Do
- Responsible for the day-to-day running, and the face-of McLaren Trophy, America.
- Secure championship entries to meet business case targets.
- Work in collaboration with colleagues to sell sufficient motorsport race cars.
- Prepare, manage, and execute championship weekends in-line with FIA and McLaren standards.
- Use expert knowledge and experience to work with the local Motorsport ASN / sporting club to create and uphold championship regulations.
- Accountable for all stakeholder relationships at a local level: drivers, teams, sponsors, all internal colleagues across technical, finance, marketing, PR, partnerships, plus key stakeholders in McLaren Racing Ltd.
- Manage the series budget to meet business case targets.
- Liaise with the dealer network to integrate them into McLaren Trophy, America.
- Work with the motorsport technical team to support customer teams and ensure compliance with technical regulations.
- Work in collaboration with MAL colleagues to procure new sponsors to the championship.
What You'll Bring
- Degree qualified in Marketing or related discipline.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of the world of Motorsport and the Automotive industry.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in managing Sport / Motorsport events. Must have worked in the motorsports area and be very knowledgeable of sports car racing.
- Excellent commercial acumen.
- Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.
- Confident public speaker.
- Flexible and self-disciplined, with a great ability to adapt in rapidly changing environments.
- Experience in sales-focused client liaison management.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively with multi-functional teams and suppliers.
- Exemplary spoken and face-to-face communication skills, good personal presentation.
- Must remain calm and collected under pressure.
- Adaptable, quick thinking, decisive, showing strong initiative and self-determination.
- Must be willing to travel frequently and work on event for periods of 5 days or more, often over weekends and public holidays.
- Must be self-disciplined, self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
