This is a Partner-level opportunity for a Principal/Director/VP-level professional looking to further their career with an equity stake in a global environmental leader that aims to lead the field in sustainability consulting. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Primary focus on client account development in the mining industry, sales, and delivery of the full spectrum of ERM’s consulting services to deliver strategic value to our clients. In particular, play a key role in growing ERM’s Environmental M&A Solutions across its broad portfolio of service offerings:
    • EHS due diligence for Mergers & Acquisitions and project financing
    • Carbon and energy due diligence
    • Post-merger integration
    • Management system gap analysis and benchmarking
    • Sustainability assessments
    • Deal negotiation support
  • Actively develop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities that result in significant revenue growth with target clients aligned with ERM’s global strategy.
    • Provide business value selling at the top levels of client organizations, raising the profile of ERM’s capabilities within key client organizations, to identify and shape clients’ needs for ERM services.
    • Develop new client relationships and expand existing relationships by delivering strategic consulting advice, excellent value, and quality service.
    • Maintain pulse on industry business deals and prioritize sales efforts toward high-potential, top opportunities.
    • Manage capture efforts utilizing technical understanding to develop proposals, including written content, pricing, presentations, and contracting.
  • Lead complex due diligence consulting engagements involving multi-site portfolios and multi-person project teams locally, nationally, and globally. Work with clients to find solutions to transaction-driven environmental issues, including EHS compliance, remediation, portfolio issues, Brownfields, and liability cost estimating.
  • Build, grow, and manage a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to consultants. Identify emerging talent and work with them to reach their full potential; ensure rising stars are nurtured, developed and given new areas of responsibility.
  • Support the growth and development of ERM’s global Environmental M&A solutions and actively collaborate with colleagues across the globe. Drive innovation within the business to stay ahead of client needs and to differentiate ERM in the market.
  • Work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to build ERM’s global business, as well as to lead client and technical teams. Leverage the Mergers & Acquisitions role to provide services related to site remediation, EHS compliance, management systems, outsourcing, and integration support, among others.
  • Meet business financial targets, overall project budget and schedule, client satisfaction/expectations, and internal and contract requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS in engineering, environmental or other science, or related discipline; professional registration preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in mining and metals sector, including critical minerals.
  • 15+ years’ progressive experience in an environmental consulting environment, working at a high-level with corporate, financial, and legal clients; preferably with the oil and gas, chemical, mining, power, and/or manufacturing sectors.
  • In-depth understanding of the M&A industry in the Midwest region and the companies operating in these sectors, including existing relationships with corporate executives, attorneys, investment bankers, and/or private equity that can be leveraged into new business.
  • Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges and recognize corporate opportunities.
  • Demonstrable track record in delivering multimillion dollar sales results annually, including successfully winning large and strategic portfolios.
  • Well-versed in environmental risk, environmental compliance, health & safety compliance, and remediation liabilities as they relate to transaction agreements.
  • Experience estimating costs of environmental compliance and remediation liabilities.
  • Offer recognized technical expertise and an established reputation in the local marketplace.

For the Consulting Partner, Environmental Mergers & Acquisitions - Mining position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $181,000 – $237,000. An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).
