This position is full time (40 hours a week)

Schedule: Mon - Fri (From 9:00am to 5:00pm)  

Summary/objective — Processes car deals including verify the costs for the accounting department and the legal transfer of documents for the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Essential functions

  • Processes all new and used vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titled.
  • Prepares tax and title documents.
  • Submits all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Verifies that funds have been collected and post EFT’s.
  • Checks for accuracy in the application and trade documents to ensure that all information is complete.
  • Maintains a system to verify out-of-state titles.
  • Compiles and maintains a complete list of all outstanding title work. Reports to management on the status of any missing or problem titles and provides a current list of outstanding titles to the comptroller at the end of month.
  • Signs over titles for all wholesalers who have paid in full. Prepares a monthly report to management of any funds not collected from wholesalers due to missing or incomplete title work.
  • Prepares P-Units.  Post into accounting and inventory.  Make jackets and track titles. 
  • Processes yearly renewal of dealer tags in conjunction with comptroller.
  • Stays abreast of title regulations. Attends seminars held by local licensing bureaus and any available training on title regulations.
  • Cross-trains others to handle title clerk daily responsibilities.
  • Directs title runner in daily routines.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and a neat work area.
  • Courtesy Delivery.
  • Receipt credit cards.
  • Clean and maintain CIT schedule.
  • Finance Reserves and ‘We Owe’
  • Rotate yearly deal files.
  • Maintains postage machine.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
  • Work environment and physical demands —office atmosphere with up to six hours a day of sitting.  Occasionally lifting to 20 pounds at a time and lifting or carrying small items, such as paperwork.
  • Position type and expected hours of work —Full Time / Monday – Friday / 8am – 5pm and overtime when necessary.
  • Preferred education and experience —high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
