Lab Technician
  • Workers need the static dissipating work boots before starting. S-W will reimburse for the work boots $100.00
  • Performs laboratory tests or other laboratory work using conventional and computerized machines and work aids.
  • Performs laboratory work and tests according to prescribed standards.
  • Determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition.
  • Sets up, readjusts, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • The usual requirement is two years of post secondary education in field of specialty; however, some companies may accept equivalent education and experience combined.
Comply with all safety, quality and security regulations, and maintain a clean work area.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
  • 1. Leads Testing and Certification projects as assigned:
a. Provide support for Indirect customer, business level and segment support.
b. Comply with test methods according to set standards and if any discrepancies exist communicate these back to the requestor.
c. Identifies scheduling conflicts and roadblocks to ensure customer delight.
d. Provides feedback, test results, and data regarding the test projects submitted. Then clearly communicates the results and files / retains the reports and testing panels as required.
e. Leads efforts to complete basic project results; requires independent judgment within professional guidelines.
f. May serve as a project leader for projects with objectives that are outlined, short-term. Provides professional support to the product development, quality control, manufacturing processes, and other operations.
  • 2. Conduct the implementation of quality efforts in all equipment processes within the laboratory as they pertain to requirements called out in the published test methods.
  • 3. Manage of the operation, preventative maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of a variety of equipment related to test equipment; utilizes technical or standard equipment during the course of projects. Communicating with vendors as needed.
  • 4. Complete proper forms and documents (purchase forms, log sheets, etc) when necessary.
  • 5. Function with sustained supervision and write simple reports, outlining procedures used and the results obtained.
  • 6. Attend quality, safety, technical meetings and seminars as necessary.
  • Comply with all safety, quality and security regulations, and maintain a clean work area.
  • 7 Performs additional duties as assigned.

Compensation: $18.00 per hour
Scott Labat of Distinctive Staffing Solutions has been in the staffing business most of his career. He started with staffing when he was opening restaurants across the country. Scott enjoyed the hiring process and staffing the locations. He left that business to continue his passion for staffing and went to work for an IT recruiting firm placing full-time resources, working with both clients and candidates. In his career he has worked with full-time staffing firms, project based consulting firms and national contingent staffing companies.
We have all worked with consulting/staffing firms that have a process in place and will do what ever it takes to make their clients accept these processes. DSS understands that client success is wrapped around understanding their processes and procedures and working together to find a solution to their staffing/project needs.
DSS is not in the business of making our clients change their internal processes to fit our needs.

You can't do that if you are forcing metrics, this causes actions that are not in the best interest of the candidate or our clients, this is not the targeted production that DSS wants.
