Position Summary
The Compliance Auditor will support leadership in the personal property compliance review process by reviewing and approving returns, funding, bills, check requests, and reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review and approve returns prepared by team members
  • Document filing/reporting errors and communicate inconsistencies with Analyst and Supervisor/Manager
  • Review and approve exception reports submitted weekly by Analysts and ensure PTCA is updated accordingly
  • Review and approve funding's prepared by Analysts prior to submitting to client
  • Review and approve Tax Bills/Check Requests in PTMS, OneSource & PowerPlan
  • Create AP exports out of PTMS, OneSource & PowerPlan for PTCA and Solomon
  • Release Check Batches and Request for Checks to be printed through Solomon
  • Review and approve client billings and return mailer packets
  • Review tax payments exceeding $10,000 prior to mailing
  • Monitor PTCA database for both internal and jurisdictional deadlines ensuring department is meeting tasks timely and monitor internal controls
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Present completed returns to management for review by assigned due date
  • Prepare tax payments on behalf of clients for jurisdictional liabilities
  • Monitor and review all jurisdictional tax notices for assigned clients by assigned due date
  • Monitor and review the analyst's scan's folders to ensure items are being broken out in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • 3+ years' experience with DMA or in a similar position in the tax/accounting/auditing industry
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be assertive with other employees to ensure deadlines are met
  • Organization and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • PTMS (Property Tax Management System) experience and technical tax background preferred
