Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cafeteria Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for about 200 hotel staff members. This role requires a candidate with strong catering and prep experience who can handle high-volume cooking while maintaining consistent quality and portion control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Season and cook meals for 200+ hotel staff members, ensuring high-quality and flavorful dishes.
  • Follow a predetermined menu and adhere to the daily and weekly meal schedule.
  • Ensure proper portion sizes are served according to the menu guidelines.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment to meet the demands of the cafeteria.
  • Prepare ingredients in advance (prep work) to ensure smooth service times.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and prep areas.
  • Monitor food storage and inventory, and ensure food safety standards are met at all times.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and follow instructions from the head chef or supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a cook, ideally with catering or high-volume cafeteria experience.
  • Strong knowledge of meal prep and portioning for large groups.
  • Ability to follow menus and schedules with precision.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and move kitchen supplies as needed.
