Benton County is looking for a Civil Engineer to join the dedicated Public Works Department!
JOB SUMMARY
Provides engineering, program and project management services for coordination, design, construction, and operation of the transportation systems, land development reviews, and capital improvement projects which includes roads, bridges, stormwater, water, sewer, traffic control, permit systems and maintenance management. Provides project development and oversight for infrastructure design, development of plans and specifications and cost estimates, contract engineering and construction engineering and provides assistance with the securing of funds through various state and federal grant programs. Meets with citizens, neighborhoods, developers, businesses, utilities, committees, elected officials, state, federal and other local government agencies in regard to projects, programs or any other concerns.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university; AND
- 5 years of professional work experience in civil engineering
Special Requirements
- Valid Oregon Driver's License or the ability to obtain
- Oregon Professional Engineer License (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
- ODOT Flagger card (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
- First Aid/CPR certified (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong technical background in engineering principles and practices
- Fluency in the use of CAD, GIS, spreadsheets and databases
- Excellent communication skills
