Wireline Telecom BSS OSS Architect

Job Summary:

The Wireline BSS/OSS Architect will lead the design and architecture of Business Support Systems (BSS) and Operations Support Systems (OSS) that cater to wireline services, including fiber optic networks. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the architecture aligns with the company's strategic goals, facilitates seamless service delivery, and optimizes the integration and performance of BSS/OSS applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and design scalable, high-performance BSS and OSS solutions for wireline services, with a particular focus on fiber optic technologies.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and product managers to gather and interpret business requirements, translating them into effective system architectures.
• Lead the design of end-to-end solutions that integrate key BSS/OSS components such as billing, CRM, order management, service provisioning, service assurance, and network management.
• Ensure seamless integration between BSS/OSS systems and fiber optic network infrastructure, leveraging industry best practices and cutting-edge technologies.
• Provide architectural leadership in the design and deployment of systems supporting fiber optic services, including GPON, FTTH, and other related technologies.
• Perform system analysis to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security of BSS/OSS applications in fiber optic environments.
• Work closely with network architects to ensure that BSS/OSS solutions support the specific needs of fiber optic deployments, such as provisioning, fault management, and service activation.
• Stay up to date on the latest advancements in fiber optics and telecommunications technologies and incorporate them into system designs.
• Drive the adoption of cloud-native and microservices-based architectures in the BSS/OSS landscape.
• Lead and mentor technical teams, providing guidance on the integration of BSS/OSS systems with fiber optic network management platforms.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards, particularly in relation to fiber optic services.
• Review, validate, and approve technical deliverables, ensuring they align with the overall architectural vision.

Qualifications and Skills:

• 8+ years of experience in telecommunications, with at least 5 years in wireline BSS/OSS architecture.
• Deep understanding of fiber optic technologies (GPON, FTTH, DWDM, CWDM) and their integration into BSS/OSS systems.
• Proven experience in architecting BSS/OSS solutions for wireline networks, particularly those involving fiber optics.
• Strong expertise in telecom industry standards such as TM Forum Frameworx (eTOM, SID) and ITIL.
• Knowledge of key BSS/OSS components, including billing, CRM, order management, provisioning, and service assurance for fiber optic services.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies and microservices architectures is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with network management and orchestration tools specific to fiber optic networks.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with network function virtualization (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN) in fiber optic environments.
• Familiarity with automation, orchestration, and AI-driven service management for fiber optic deployments.
• Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
