Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a dynamic Human Resources Director to lead and coordinate HR activities across their operations in the United States and Canada. In this pivotal role, you will develop partnerships within the organization to deliver value-added services that align with business needs. The HR Director will maintain a strong understanding of the company’s culture, competition, successes, and challenges to effectively support employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the leadership team to formulate, develop, implement, and evaluate an HR management strategy that supports the organization’s vision and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with field operations to enhance HR relationships through regular communication and joint problem-solving for HR/business-related issues.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding human capital; implement compliance initiatives, including writing applicable policies.
  • Manage workplace investigations and collaborate with management, legal, and HR representatives to resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • Oversee and support the Human Resources team within the corporate HR department on a day-to-day basis.
  • Respond to government inquiries and manage state and federal reporting, including EEO-1, VET, and affirmative action planning.
  • Review, approve, and ensure compliance for employee change requests, offer letters, separations, and related communications.
  • Select tools to meet recruitment needs across the organization.
  • Support the onboarding and integration process for employees hired through acquisitions.
  • Enhance ATS, HRIS, and case management system technologies.
  • Stay informed on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, applying this knowledge to update policies and resources for upper management.
  • Collaborate with Payroll and Risk Management departments on shared processes.
  • Oversee employee benefits administration, including annual benefits decisions and monitoring plan performance.
  • Ensure compliance in leave management for FMLA, ADA, and the administration of STD, LTD, and state leaves of absence.
  • Review customer contracts for compliance with employee screening requirements.
  • Develop and implement the departmental budget; approve costs and invoices.
  • Facilitate professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
  • Perform other duties and supervision as assigned.

Key Requirements:

  • Employee volume of 5000+
  • Multi State HR experience (ESSENTIAL)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of HR experience in a leadership role, with at least 3 years managing a team of HR professionals (5 years preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in employee relations.
  • Human Resources certification is preferred.
  • Experience managing HR functions in a large, multi-state environment with a distributed workforce.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of multiple HR disciplines.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Familiarity with traditional and franchise business models, including commission structures and bonus plans.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Adaptability to work effectively in ambiguous situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google platforms.
  • Experience with ADP HRIS and HCM or other HRIS platforms is ideal.
  • Must be technologically savvy and efficient in navigating HR software programs.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time.

Physical Demands:

  • Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Manual dexterity for keyboarding and repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, or stand as necessary.
