** Product Engineer - ** Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering - 90 to 100K + Bonus + Benefits

Location - Elkhart, IN

* Ideal candidate(s) will have experience in a manufacturing environment.

_ Overview: _ Product Engineer’s primary responsibility is working in close collaboration with RV OEMs & Camco Sales to design, develop, validate & launch new & innovative products. Secondary responsibilities include current product maintenance, supporting operational, quality & cost optimization initiatives at the Elkhart facility. This position will be on site at the Camco Elkhart, IN location.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution

· Electrical design experience preferred.

· Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a product engineering in a manufacturing environment.

_ · CAD 3D modelling and component/assembly drawing creation proficiency is required, SolidWorks experience preferred. _

_ · Experience with injection molding and metal forming part manufacturing and design. _

· Problem solving skills using common methodologies (5-Why, 8D, Fishbone diagrams, Shainin, etc.).

· Experience in direct customer contact, communication and negotiation.

· Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work on multiple project tasks to completion

· Self-motivated with strong customer focus and interpersonal skills.

· Experience writing technical specifications, validation test procedures and test reports.

· Participate in submitting patent disclosures, generating IP and publications in support of business needs.

· Project management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

· Develop new product designs from concepts, based on OEM interests, budgets, & market research.

· Work collaboratively with local & overseas production personnel, purchasing personnel, suppliers & customers to create optimal solutions to support the business.

· Apply a functional knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, structural mechanics and design for manufacturability and reliability towards achieving product goals

· Coordinate all product development work for assigned products and ensure engineering objectives are met.

· Provide on-site support/be on call for product development, issue identification and resolution at the OEM customer facilities.

· Effectively use engineering tools and processes such as detailed design reviews, etc., to ensure that the end-product meets all customer requirements.

· Provide prototyping support for early-stage development work.

· Develop and issue validation procedures as required.

· Understand product cost structure, review and negotiate supplier quotes.

· Report validation results in a clear and concise manner, and makes design recommendations.

· Select product materials and appropriate product manufacturing processes.

· Support improvement of current and implementation of new engineering systems and processes.
