Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM

Under the direction of the Business Manager, the Community Relations coordinator facilitates negotiation of new contracts, ongoing coordination with contract providers, contract credentialing, and contract oversight, and promotes the PACE program to facilitate participant referrals to the program, including representing the Agency to various community organizations.

Responsibilities

Program Development

* In coordination with PACE enrollment coordinator, works to establish participant referral sources, and assure participant census goals.

* Develops and monitors PACE marketing plan (as required by CMS) to meet objectives established by Administration.

* In cooperation with UnityPoint St. Luke's Public relations department:
o Coordinates the development of all promotional materials, including brochures, website development.
o Coordinates all promotional efforts and campaigns.
o Oversees media relations

* Assures all PACE marketing materials meet regulatory guidelines.
o Submits materials to CMS and Iowa Medicaid Enterprise and follows through on recommendations for revisions.

* Maintains accurate accounting of promotional activities.

* Assists representing PACE at conferences, networking events, and meetings.
Contract Management

* Coordinates negotiation of new contracts, ongoing coordination with contract providers, contract credentialing, and contract oversight.

* Assure contract files are current and meet regulatory requirements.

* Maintains working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations,.

* Communicates contract provider information to PACE staff.

* Communicates to the Business Manager or Director any issues or concerns related to contract providers.

* Provides education and orientation to contracted providers direct care staff.

* Credentials and verifies licensure, background checks, immunizations, etc. are current for contracted provider staff.

* Reports information to Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Coordinator (QAPI), and prepares QAPI information for providers.

* Independently performs functions related to all aspects of contract management, contract coordination, and contract oversight. Establishes positive public relations with providers and prospective providers.
Basic UPH Performance Criteria

* Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.

* Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.

* Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.

* Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.

* Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.

* Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in business or health care related field OR equivalent experience in health care or related field.

Experience

Two to three years office coordination required. Experience in contract management and health related field or managed care network development preferred.
