Job Requirements / Description

Efforts will focus on DevOps engineering of a modernization effort to converge DoD's authoring, dissemination, and other supporting tools. Responsibilities will include:

  1. Deploying applications;
  2. Installing and configuring complex software;
  3. Managing network servers and technology tools;
  4. Monitoring and maintaining the system for required levels of performance;
  5. Troubleshooting issues and outages.

MANDATORY SKILLS: Required technical skills include experience with:

  1. Linux
  2. AWS, MASH, and VMs
  3. Deployments of distributed web applications (e.g. GitLab CI/CD)
  4. Terraform scripting and VM provisioning
  5. Ansible scripting and development
  6. Thorough understanding of Docker & Docker Compose container technology
  7. Git

OPTIONAL SKILLS: Desired technical skills include experience with:

  1. AWS, eVo, VM, and UWE environments
  2. Docker Swarm
  3. Python scripting and development
  4. Maintenance and configuration
  5. Elasticsearch maintenance and configuration
  6. Java / Spring Boot (troubleshooting error logs)
  7. HAProxy
  8. MongoDB
  9. Percona (MySQL flavor)
  10. Firewalls
  11. Agile software development practices
  12. Jira and Confluence
