The Division of Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and the Department of Surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seek a full non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor Level. Candidates must have demonstrated leadership experience, strong clinical and interpersonal skills, and superb emotional intelligence. As the Division Head, this position will provide leadership and programmatic growth for our abdominal transplant programs, including pediatric kidney, liver, and intestinal transplant as well as hepatobiliary surgical services, including being the Surgical Director for the hospital's Transplant Center.
She or he will work collaboratively with appropriate peer leaders and the Surgeon-in-Chief to plan, implement, evaluate and improve programs within the division. This individual will oversee quality improvement and related initiatives to ensure the professional aspects of regulatory compliance and work closely with our academic affiliate at the Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine.
The Division of Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago is part of the Siragusa Transplant Center, and provides liver, kidney, and intestinal transplant. Our programs are the largest in Illinois and among the leaders in pediatric transplant in the nation. In addition, the division provides the most complex pediatric hepatobiliary surgical options, including congenital portosystemic shunt ligation, Meso-Rex bypass, hepatic resections, and more.
Qualified candidates will be fellowship trained in transplant surgery, and preferably pediatric surgery. Special interest and experience in intestinal transplant and intestinal rehabilitation is preferred. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated scholarly activity in the area of clinical or basic science research and a strong commitment to education and training.
The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.
