World Wide Technology is looking for a VDI Engineer . This job is part of WWT’s Strategic Resourcing services. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT’s preferred partners.
Role: VDI Engineer
Duration: 6 months Contract to hire
Location: Louisville, KY or Allentown, PA or Providence RI(Hybrid)
Preferable to have leadership experience and willingness to move into a potential management role, though this is neither guaranteed nor required, necessarily. Both are preferable to be able to commute to Louisville, Allentown, or Providence. For leadership potential candidates in person should be viewed as a requirement.
VDI/AVD/Azure - Virtual Desktop and Remote App (RDS) hosting and management expert. Citrix, Horizon, and Native Azure are all valuable skills, though a focus on AVD is best.
- In addition to architecting and designing, the VDI Engineer will provide TIER 3/4 support to system administrators in order to resolve VDI issues.
- Provide guidance on optimization of desktops for platform interoperability and act as liaison between Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies.
- Offers endpoint support on issues and trouble resolution tasks on Virtual Desktop related tasks.
- Maintains an Advanced knowledge relative to administration, engineering, and implementation of virtual desktop infrastructure-related technologies.
- Operate across multiple and complex production environments with multiple stakeholders.
- Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
- Conducts trade studies and makes recommendations on solutions
- Experience in Microsoft Azure, Azure Networking, Storage and Virtual Desktops
- Experience with VMWare Horizon is a Plus
- Experience managing and administering Windows Servers
- Experience with Azure AD, Intune, FSLogix
- Experience in VDI profile management
- Experience with Azure Remote Apps
- Endpoint protection, policy management
- AVD integration with Office 365 services
- Desktop Software provisioning and Support Services
- Collaborate and work well in a team environment
