Mott MacDonald is currently seeking a Project Highway Engineer in our Boston, MA office.Mott MacDonald’s transportation and infrastructure teams work on some of the most important projects at hand, incorporating our values of sustainability and improving communities through positive social outcomes. Being part of the MM team provides the opportunity to work with dedicated, talented professionals across a broad range of infrastructure and transportation projects.
Responsibilities include:

  • Highway/traffic/site-civil design, contract document development, technical writing, and field investigation.
  • Conceptualizing the initial design approach and/or having overall responsibility for the civil engineering work on a project.
  • Monitoring project expenditure and task level basis and reporting to the project manager.
  • Supervision of less experienced engineers or technical support personnel on an assignment-level basis.

We welcome applications from candidates with the following core competencies and characteristics:

  • The ideal candidate must have a BS or MS in Civil Engineering and 3 to 6 years of highway/traffic/site-civil designexperience.
  • Massachusetts PE license is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to initiate and lead internal and interdisciplinary design coordination.
  • Experience with Massachusetts Department of Transportation standards and project procedures.
  • Experience should include highway design (geometrics, signing, and striping, grading, traffic control), drainage design, and pavement design. It is preferred that experience also include traffic engineering experience, including traffic analysis.
  • Experience with MicroStation, Open Roads, AutoCAD, Civil3D, andSynchro.
