Overview:

The National Sales Manager, reporting into the Director of Sales, is an essential teammate to support business and revenue growth from the group segment.

This role is responsible for identifying potential clients through a variety of lead generating channels and fostering those relationships to close new business, while also maintaining relationships with legacy clients and converting them into new revenue opportunities.

The candidate must be an independent self-starter, possess an entrepreneurial spirit with an open mindset, a strong collaborator with clear communication to the Conference Services team, and capable of navigating and understanding various cultures & backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

  1. Business Development: Solicit new accounts through prospecting and promoting Big Sky Resort’s deep product portfolio (lodging, lift tickets, conference space, catering and banquet services, and activities).
  2. Client Management: Manage a top to bottom pipeline of client business, starting with inquiry responses, proposal development, negotiating and contracting, and facilitating client needs on-property.
  3. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Conference Services, Culinary, Accounting and Marketing teams to deliver client-oriented solutions and event expectations.
  4. Upselling and Cross-selling: Identify opportunities to increase revenue through strategic upselling and cross-selling of resort services and amenities.
  5. Sales Mentality: Develop and present client proposals with a spirit of creativity and differentiation to close business and achieve seasonal revenue goals.
  6. Industry Networking: Actively participate in industry associations and events to build the resort's reputation and generate leads.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Regularly seek and incorporate client feedback to improve sales processes and the overall guest experience.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a focus on Hospitality, Communications, or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in the Hospitality, Sales, Event Planning or related field.
  3. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate client arrivals.
  4. Ability to travel domestically and internationally for trade shows, customer events and to support new business development.
  5. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with a talent in presenting to groups of all sizes.
  6. Ability to build relationships with both internal and external customers, and prioritize support and resources accordingly.
  7. Familiarity with client management and product delivery platform (SalesForce, Amadeus, Springer Miller Systems, Duetto/Blockbuster, CVent).

  1. The salary range for this position is $60k-$65k annually plus commission. This role is also eligible for annual bonuses.
