RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides strategic leadership in implementing the sales strategy, policies and procedures. Develops effective relationships with team members within the organization to provide effective service to our customers and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales budget; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products. Implements sales programs by developing sales actions.
  • Develop and maintains effective working relationships with customers and suppliers while gaining an understanding of their businesses, organization, and needs.
  • Maintains sales volume and product mix by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
  • Utilizes a high level of self-direction to plan sales calls with appropriate frequency & priority. Communicate activities effectively to sales staff & other departments to ensure consistent shared knowledge base.
  • Collaborate with sales team to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products and services and to provide sales support.
  • Plays a lead role in enhancing ongoing relationships, developing growth with existing customers and targeting new accounts consistent with the overall sales strategy. Leads the effective implementation of new programs and products.
  • Actively involved participation in monthly SOP (Sales & Operations Planning) meetings. Timely submission of trip reports, customer activity and expense reports for all business activities is required.
  • Solicit inquiries and work with customer service representatives to ensure timely & competitive quotations, provide customer specifications to technical support staff as necessary to ensure product compliance. Provide timely quotation follow up in conjunction with CSR & agents to successfully close sales opportunities.
  • Participate in or attend trade shows on behalf of ATG and SSCL as directed.
  • Collaborate with ATG team members, personnel from other divisions of SSCL & Corporate Marketing to facilitate lead development & generate cross-selling opportunities.
  • Assist sales agents and provide appropriate guidance to maximize customer contact; ensuring local sales contact is maintained.
  • Operate within Corporate guidelines and policies and Code of Conduct.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sales Management experience in the manufacturing sector; preferably steel and metals related servicing Industrial, OEM and Distribution and/or Stainless Steel and Specialty Alloy tubing markets. Value-Add, Technical, Stainless and Nickel Alloy selling skillset attributes desirable.
  • 4-year degree or equivalent with courses in Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration plus a broad sales/marketing experience of five or more years; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills - written, oral and presentation.
  • Organization and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with or without direct supervision.
  • Ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics
  • Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills
  • Analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • 50% office environment.
  • 50% travel.
  • No direct reports.
