Position Summary
The position of Lead Director, CFO, New York & New Jersey, will function as the CFO for both the New York & New Jersey Medicaid Health Plan’s and will lead the respective markets’ ability to achieve its financial and strategic goals by managing and driving business actions and financial goals across the Plan, Aetna Medicaid segment and Aetna Health Care Business unit.
The CFO will be responsible for managing the performance of over $1B in annual revenue.
The Market CFO will:
- Partner with each market CEO and be an integral part of the C-suite teams to maintain financial and operational control of the businesses.
- Lead a team of Finance professionals responsible for managing the financial close, forecasting and planning processes, as well as manage standard and ad hoc financial report submissions to and audit reviews by the State Medicaid Agency.
- Leverage prior experience to ensure the quality and integrity of P&L/cost center owner level reporting, membership and/or expense forecasts, product reporting and balance sheet reporting.
- Collaborate with constituent areas including Actuarial, Service Operations, Clinical, Network and Medical Economics to execute on growth and expense management priorities.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years financial experience including strategic and business planning, financial planning, analysis, P&L, reporting or accounting.
- Experience in healthcare or insurance.
- Experience in P&L management and leadership with budgets, and forecasts.
- Experience in development of Budgets and identification of risks and opportunities.
- P&L ownership and key financial metrics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Health Plan Operations.
- Provider contracting and reimbursement methodologies.
- Medicaid, Medicare or Commercial health insurance products and financial drivers.
- Experience in Financial analysis, trends, projections, and analytics.
Education
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or similar disciplines.
- Advanced degree in Business and/or FSA/CPA.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
