Position Summary: Supports engineers and other technical professionals in the design, development, and maintenance of engineering projects to includes assisting with testing, data collection, troubleshooting, and the installation of systems and machinery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Assist engineers with the design (solidworks modeling and drawings), development and testing of products, processes, and systems.
  • Testing and Evaluation: Conduct tests, collect data, and perform analysis on systems or components to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Documentation: Record test results, equipment settings, maintenance activities, and any changes to the design or operation.
  • Prototype Assembly: Build or assist in the construction of prototypes and models for testing.
  • Installation and Maintenance: assist in installation tests for fixtures. Set up, calibrate, and maintain engineering equipment, tools, and systems in line with project requirements.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that components and systems meet safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, production teams, and other departments to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all operations and activities meet regulatory requirements and internal standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to demonstrate productive creativity within the parameters of the project
  • Ability to successfully work on multiple projects / programs.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of mechanical drawing standards
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills: Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team, but also able to work independently. Good communication skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate ideas in writing consistent with style guidelines and acceptable spelling and grammatical practices.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with customers, contractors, auditors, specifiers and lighting designers at varying levels of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with others in achieving optimal project outcomes.
  • Ability to work within tight time frames which, in turn, necessitates both a sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize based on negotiations with internal customers.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, Excel, and Power Point.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience as an engineering tech, drafter, or model maker
  • Solidworks modeling software proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited university or Technical diploma in engineering.
  • 3D CAD solid modeling experience.
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical software.
  • Previous ERP software experience.
  • Previous experience in commercial construction, architecture, or lighting.
