POSITION We are seeking a dedicated professional for the position of Oracle Database Administrator. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Oracle Support Team in a high growth organization. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking for a fast-paced environment where experience will be drawn upon to effectively assist in completing customer implementations in a timely manner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide on-call support & troubleshoot and triage technical issues.
  2. Support application and development teams with deploying databases across various test environments.
  3. Test and install database software patches, CPU and PSU.
  4. Implement automation of various database processes and standards.
  5. Monitor database activity and health logs.
  6. Monitor and troubleshoot database server performance.
  7. Perform backup and restores of all databases, using Oracle RMAN.
  8. Provide Oracle professional services to include the installation and configuration of Oracle databases on Windows and Linux platforms.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  1. Basic knowledge of foodservice and/or retail sales related information is helpful.
  2. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and set priorities within time constraints.
  3. Courteous and professional phone manner, demeanor, and attitude are essential.
  4. Must be able to work independently as well as coordinate efforts with other team members on universal customer issues.
  5. Must be willing to work variable hours Monday - Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Pacific Time) and on a rotating basis for on-call AM, weekend, and holiday beeper support.
  6. Occasional travel may be required for onsite installations.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Requires formal Oracle certification such as Oracle Database Certified Associate or higher.
  2. Experience with Oracle databases 11g, 12c, 19c.
  3. Strong PC and system navigation skills, specifically in a Windows and Linux based environments.
  4. Previous customer service or support and/or basic technical experience recommended.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required.
  6. Experience working with a team of motivated professionals, with emphasis on providing the customer with the highest service levels.
  7. Undertakes ad-hoc assignments as required to react quickly and positively to new or emergent situations with positive energy levels and tolerance of tight deadlines, time pressures, and ambiguity.
