Lead Software Engineer needed for Nike, Inc. located in Beaverton, OR.

Develop, code/configure, test programs/systems and solutions problems independently and with minimal supervision in order to meet defined digital product specifications and direction. Accelerate product development while improving the customer experience for those adopting Global Tech Platforms that enable Nike’s digital transformation. Learn new technologies, identify & permanently solve technological problems, execute on scope-based engagements that increase Global Tech Platform compliance with Platform Readiness Objectives, operationalize products, reduce technical debt, lead projects to such outcomes and hence ultimately improve Global Tech Platform customer experience. Closely collaborate with Global Tech Platform engineering teams to perform Problem Management. Proactively and reactively analyze single incident occurrence or recurring past incidents that impact Global Tech Platform Platforms, network monitor data logs, and other sources of information (Problem identification). Proceed with a value proposition to investigate the root cause (Problem Logging) and remove the problem permanently before they arise as incidents or prevent the recurring incident (Problem resolution). Collaborate with Global Tech Platform engineering teams to execute on their Platform Readiness Objectives to best align with their Product Roadmaps and End User Adoption plans. Collaborate with Global Tech Platform engineering teams to execute on technical debt reduction, tool development, training artifacts (with Professional Services team), and operational work such as (but not limited to) automation of operational tasks, release validation, tools development or implementation, deployment support and data migrations.

Take action on continuous improvements through operational or code changes on behalf of the Global Tech Platform engineering teams. Act as an experienced and trusted adviser in a facilitative manner to support the development of the mentee engineers. Collaborate with the team to develop and document team process and best practices. Provide local, production engineering services for our partners. Advise product owners on discrete technology-related business problems. Work with product owners to determine the best solution. Help design and build scalable software solutions, implement and integrate new technologies, manage and evolve existing platforms. Assess a well-defined problem and lead the development of a technical solution that meets the needs of the business and aligns with architectural standards. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S., except from AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, RI, SD, VT, WV, and WY.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicant must have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Information Technology Management, and 2 years of experience in the job offered or a computer-related occupation. Experience must include:

  1. Programming languages such as: Java, Python, Shellscript, Node.js;
  2. Cloud-based technologies;
  3. Big Data analytics and data streaming platform technologies;
  4. Cloud architecture and technologies: Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform or Azure;
  5. Distributed code repositories, CICD Pipelines and Infrastructure as Code;
  6. Experience with cloud native technologies like Kubernetes, Docker;
  7. Securing RESTful APIs and Apps using OAuth, OpenID Connect, and JWT;
  8. Incident and problem lifecycle.
