Job Summary: Support the delivery of the Social Impact and ESG strategy and drive employee engagement concentrating mainly on social impact; inclusion and diversity, charity and volunteering.
Key Responsibilities
- Inclusion & Diversity
- Support the implementation and delivery of the inclusion & diversity strategy
- Oversee the coordination and activities of Beazley's employee networks in in your specific geography. Ensure the networks work together to plan a cohesive annual calendar of engagement activities and find opportunities to promote intersectionality as much as possible. Ensure network leaders are supported and budgets are managed appropriately
- Manage Beazley's external diversity partnerships ensuring they are well utilised and providing value for the company. Ensure external partners are aligned with Beazley's own values and seek opportunities for collaboration
- Coordinate efforts with brokers on partnership events, liaising with the relevant distribution teams and marketing
- Attend relevant external meetings and conferences - for example the Lloyd's Insurance Inclusion & Diversity Forum. Ensure knowledge and updates are shared
- Promote employee engagement and participation in diversity and inclusion initiatives. Ensure employees have channels to raise concerns through to the relevant steering committees
- Supporting the Head of Social Impact with diversity data analysis through the annual employee engagement survey, or ad hoc as required by the business
- Supporting the Head of Social Impact with the creation of regular reports on I&D activity to be seen by the Executive Committee and Responsible Business Steering Group
- Community Impact
- Ensuring a continual link to Beazley's social impact plan and wider sustainability strategy, coordinate community and charitable efforts linked to the communities around our offices.
- Support the chairs of the working groups of committees by organising meetings, preparing agendas, and writing and distributing minutes.
- Ensure office administrators or local activity leaders are well supported in their efforts to plan and execute volunteering or charitable fundraising events
- Ensure adherence to budgets and spending guidelines, tracking spending and liaising with Finance and Accounts Payable
- Oversee the Make a Difference community volunteering initiatives working closely with the Community leads; sourcing activities globally, briefing team leaders, preparing communications, co-ordinating volunteers, organising logistics for activities, creating and sending feedback to ensure we can measure impact
- External Reporting
- Ownership of Beazley's process for measuring our social impact, taking responsibility for tracking results and updating the Responsible Business Steering Group reports, Executive Committee and Board reports where necessary, ensuring this aligns with the sustainability strategy and reported in the annual report.
- Support the Head of Social Impact in contributing to sustainability or diversity returns and in the creation of the social impact section of the annual report.
- Communications and Representation
- Represent the social impact team and/or wider ESG team where necessary at conferences and events
- Work with the internal communications team to ensure the intranet is updated and fit for purpose, and employees are kept updated, informed and engaged on social impact initiatives through Weekly News, The Box homepage and via Viva Engage
- Work with the external communications and marketing team to ensure our website is updated and fit for purpose, and Beazley's social impact efforts are being externally communicated regularly and find ways to leverage our social impact focus through the external Beazley brand
- Work with the talent acquisition team to ensure our social impact partnerships are being leveraged for employer branding and recruitment initiatives. Ensure prospective candidates have access to our social impact information
- Research relevant awards and recognition schemes Beazley could enter and oversee entry applications in conjunction with relevant networks
General

- Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system. These may include membership of any Beazley committees or working groups
Personal Specification:
Whilst a passion for social impact and sustainability is important, the ideal candidate for this role will also be pragmatic, have excellent communication and influencing ability and a proven ability to connect to employees at different levels of seniority, across different teams and offices. The Social Impact Manager will need a strong understanding of local and international social issues and be excited to unlock opportunities for Beazley to maximise our social impact.
External partnership management is key, and the individual will need to show how they work with external stakeholders to ensure value for money and balancing the offerings of many competing external partners to ensure we have the right ones for our strategy.
We are looking for individuals with experience of accurate administration and reporting, and the ability to liaise with auditing, risk, control and compliance teams professionally for quick resolution of queries.
The successful candidate will be able to recognise that unfortunately Beazley cannot do everything, but there are many social issues where our company has a clear advantage in being able to make a substantial difference and these opportunities should be sought out. This role will suit someone comfortable pushing back and saying no just as often as they will enthusiastically be saying yes!
Teamwork, coordination, empathy and enthusiasm are important, and the ability to work under pressure or with short notice, juggling internal deadlines and events as well as shift against external world events or global politics.

Salary for this role will be tailored to the successful individual's location and experience. The expected compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 per year plus discretionary annual bonus.
