Req ID: RQ188186Type of Requisition: SCAClearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: NonePublic Trust/Other Required: NoneJob Family: SCASkills:CNC Machines,CNC Operations,MachiningExperience:1 + years of related experienceUS Citizenship Required:YesJob Description:Machinist/Plasma Tech - 1st ShiftJob Duties and Responsibilities:Plans machining by reviewing/studying work orders, fabrication drawings, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for correct stock; verifying receipt of stockMachine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders. Programs CNC machine by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, calculates requirements for proper feeds, and speeds for the material being machinedPerforms in process inspections of parts and verifies settings by measuring positions and make adjustments to meet tolerances, proof first-run part, and sample work pieces adhering to international standards. Calculates, and interprets dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gages, etc.Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processesMaintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulationsMaintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; submitting repair requestsDocuments actions by completing production and quality logsSelect the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
