About this Role

Agility Partners is seeking a skilled PBI Developer/Analyst to join our client's team that acts as a liaison to the Data and Analytics department. This role will involve validating and testing customer data flows, collaborating closely with data engineers, and contributing to the overall data integration process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SQL, modern data tools including Power BI and Snowflake, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

In this role, you will:

  • Validate and test incoming customer data, ensuring its accuracy and completeness before it is sent to accounting.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to identify and address data gaps, upstream changes, and downstream impacts.
  • Investigate edge cases, particularly in relation to customer interactions (e.g., various ordering methods).
  • Write SQL queries to support manual testing, including searching for nulls and unexpected values.
  • Transition manual testing processes to automated tests using DBT and other tools.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI reports for ongoing business needs.
  • Engage in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing data structures and requirements.
  • Proactively communicate with development teams to understand data changes and validate the integrity of data transformations.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proficient in SQL (SQL Server, Snowflake, Power BI, Azure Data Factory).
  • Familiarity with GIT for version control.
  • Experience with DBT in a development environment.
  • Understanding of SSRS and SSIS (legacy systems).
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to write queries and validate data.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adapt quickly.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
