Our work depends on a Senior Business Systems Analyst joining our team to analyze business and technical processes to formulate and develop business information processing systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements for a large-scale modernization project.
HOW SENIOR BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Work closely with key stakeholders to drive system modernization efforts ensuring alignment with strategic business goals and objectives.
- Elicit, gather, document, and analyze business and technical requirements and process workflows.
- Create and update documentation (e.g., requirements analysis, use cases, user stories, and level of effort/resource estimates) for existing and new complex computer systems.
- Analyze detailed system factors, including input/output requirements, information flow, hardware/software requirements, and reliability characteristics.
- Create complex test case scenarios to be used in functional testing and regression testing; conduct, monitor, oversee, and document the testing of business applications to verify that all client requirements are incorporated into the system design.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline preferred but not required
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience with analyzing business requirements and developing business requirements
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience with at least one enterprise software development project within the past three years
- Strong analysis and problem-solving experience (requirements analysis, documentation, user stories), with the ability to gather and analyze information skillfully
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with customers and internal cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated experience and comfort in a project start-up environment
- Thorough understanding of and experience in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodology
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role at the US Postal Service is highly desired
- Demonstrated experience serving in a similar role on a team for a system upgrade or large-scale IT modernization projects
Security Clearance:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
- This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.
