HEAVY CIVIL CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR WANTED FOR NEW JERSEY!!!
Looking for an exciting Estimator / Senior Estimator opportunity in the construction industry?
Our client is currently seeking a skilled Senior Estimator / Estimator to join their teams!
As a Sr. Estimator / Estimator, you will be responsible for leading accurate and timely preparation of bids for jobs.
You will need extensive knowledge of the construction industry's means and methods, costs, and engineering principles.
Your primary responsibilities will include performing pre-construction duties and meetings with clients, owners, subcontractors, and engineers.
You will also be responsible for understanding project logistics and project schedules, sending requests for quotes to vendors and subcontractors, determining labor and equipment costs, and preparing accurate quantity takeoffs and material pricing.
You will also need to review and understand bid documents and assess project risks, compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids, review quotes and estimates with the Project Management Team, prepare timely and accurate estimates, and perform certain post-bid buyouts.
To qualify for this position, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience.
Public works sector experience is a plus.
You should also have advanced computer skills with estimating software, HCSS (HeavyBid) estimating experience is a plus, effective presentation skills, advanced computer skills with MS Office, and knowledge of on-screen take-off software, i.e. HCSS, blue beam or Agtek earthwork takeoff software is a plus.
Extensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles is also required, as well as extensive experience with Heavy Civil Construction Projects in any or all of the following: (Highway and Road; Watermains, Sewer Pipes, Drainage, resurfacing, or any related Heavy Civil Infrastructure background).
You should be well organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and multi-tasked, prioritize workload and consistently meet deadlines while constantly changing tasks and demands, and an excellent written and oral communicator.
